Women are creators of life. They work in every form of industry on the planet. Some women create life. Some are a source of nourishment. Others heal. Some balance raising a family while building a career. Some pursue different talents. Women reach the highest summits and touch the ocean floor. They lead, and show others how to take on the world.

Women are restricted from the authority of autonomous choices at a time when the world will see the first woman on the moon and possibly Mars.

Yet women are treated like a controlled substance.

A woman’s body is hers.

Chwa is hand-painted and collaged using watercolor and ink on cold press, ink, and adhesive. The work is inspired by women, wives, mothers, sisters, and friends who live their lives without the desire to be regulated, monitored, questioned or judged.
