I created this painting using a mixture of oil paint and wax on a gessoed wood panel. I utilize other drawing materials throughout the process, melding the drawing, mark-making process with painting.
The finished painting is created through many layers and often take months to finish. The process of layering, scraping and digging back through those layers gives the painting incredible history that is brought up to the surface in part due to the wax mixture itself.
The painting tells a story through the individual movements of my hands, color choices and mood of the finished work. These pieces are a joyful mix of planning and letting go until the final work is brought together in harmony or intended discord.
The painting is signed, titled and dated on the back. Hanging hardware is included. Painting is sold unframed. I recommend a simple floater frame if you decide to frame the work.
