I painted this piece in 1998, it was my second original and my first figurative abstraction, which can be my most insightful artwork.
I was feeling victorious after my health event and I was interested in how time works.
The clock in the centre marks the hour when the sun comes up and down, to remind me that there is an order. The rest of the canvas is filled with repeated Stones of the Commandments, but with Roman Numbers, on purpose, I exceded the ten to say that there are more numerous rules in this world. A queen's crown lays on top of a Roman Column above the clock, saying that I will always be above the requirements of this world.
