This painting looks as if it comes from an enchanted forest, and that is exactly what the woods near my house look like after the perfect snowfall. I feel like I'm walking through a fairytale, and I was almost intimidated to paint this but I could not resist. If you look closely you can see I started with a deep blue softly sanded paper. That way I could build the layers of branches and snow on top of a deep, dark background, hopefully adding to the enchantment.
