In mid-winter when the snow deepens, the streams have frozen, thawed and refrozen, and the ice gets tinged with greens and turquoise under a very cold glazing. Despite the 'colorless' time of year, I find beautiful streaks of color in the shadows along the snow and even the bare leafless twigs and branches arching overhead.
