The penultimate artwork of 2022, 'Quand on n'a question l'amour' brings Jean-Francois unmistakable style back to the fore, for the second time on a circular custom-made canvas.
Inspired by Jacques Brel song of the same title, this artwork represents both in its range of colours and strokes of the knife the full realm of emotions life offered us in 2022 and the rich tapestry it created, from the darkest ~ the background is painted in mars black ~ to the lightest, from the larger, bolder strokes to the smaller and more delicates one.
It is also the very first artwork embedding 'smart dust', the pioneering invention of Native Digital, a Swiss start-up which developed an RFID technology that is embedded in the artwork itself. Fifty micro-RFID's (just 1 mm by 1 mm by 0.5 mm) are embedded in the paint and create a digital DNA for the artwork that will for ever ensure its authenticity and traceability. That DNA then permits for the artwork to be recorded in a specific NFT.
