Higo Gabarron (Hilda Gabarron Ordorica) is a mixed-media artist, graphic designer, gallery owner, and college art professor based in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Originally from Mexico, she earned her BS in Graphic Arts and Design from Universidad de las Américas Puebla and completed postgraduate studies in art restoration at Universidad Iberoamericana. Her career spans 14 solo exhibitions in Mexico (1990–2010), the founding of Un Tigre Azul gallery, and the creation of her virtual gallery, www.higoart.com. Since moving to the U.S. in 2012, Higo has exhibited widely in Northeast Ohio and beyond, with shows at MOCA Cleveland, the Detroit Institute of Art, MetroHealth, and Julia De Burgos Cultural Arts Center, among others. She has completed artist residencies with Julia De Burgos and SPACES and holds certifications in digital design, Procreate, and animation. Her work explores identity, healing, and community engagement through vibrant, layered compositions.
