  • Artist: Gabriel Gonzalez

Gabriel Gonzalez is a Puerto Rican artist born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, on August 21, 1980. Raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Gabriel has spent nearly his entire life in the W. 25th/Clark neighborhood on the city’s near west side, where his parents settled in 1984 to provide a better life for their family. His upbringing in this vibrant but challenging urban environment shaped his identity and his artistic vision.

Gabriel’s work reflects his deep connection to his Puerto Rican heritage and his neighborhood’s cultural and social dynamics. Through his art, he captures the essence of his community’s celebrations, including music, dance, and the proud display of the Puerto Rican flag. His pieces represent not only his cultural identity but also the resilience and spirit of the neighborhood that raised him.

As an artist, Gabriel is committed to giving back to the community that shaped him. He believes in sharing his art to inspire, uplift, and celebrate the rich cultural traditions of Puerto Rican life in Cleveland, making his work a powerful bridge between heritage and home.
