David Louis Cintron is a Cleveland-based multidisciplinary artist, musician, and designer with over three decades of experience. A graduate of Kent State University with a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in Studio Art, David’s creative roots run deep. His family includes renowned artists like Miguel Pou, one of Puerto Rico’s master painters, and José Cintron, a celebrated Cleveland portrait artist and educator.
David’s artwork has been featured in regional and international exhibitions since 1990. Notable highlights include serving as the 2024 Tri-C JazzFest’s featured artist and a residency as house artist for Seratus Ribu, a boutique music and art imprint in Indonesia. His book of drawings and companion music release debuted in 2023 through Textile Records in Paris.
As a musician, David has toured with influential acts such as Pere Ubu and Rhys Chatham’s Guitar Trio All-Stars. He leads the band Terminal Lovers, collaborates widely, and has had his music featured in commercial projects and praised by critics like Julian Cope.
David’s current visual work consists of vibrant abstract paintings and intricate ink drawings that explore the intersection of intuition and form. Grounded in a 35-year practice, his art reflects a dialogue between spontaneity and intention, inviting viewers into a world of mystery and imagination.
