
Bridgett Martinez (she/her) is a theatre actor, director, and teaching artist born and residing in Cleveland, Ohio. A proud Puerto Rican, her heritage has inspired her passion for redefining the classics and uplifting new works by Latino playwrights. Bridgett's work has spanned a variety of theatre genres from musical theatre to devised, experimental work in Chicago and Cleveland at theaters such as Near West Theatre, Cleveland Public Theatre, Dobama Theatre, and Theo Ubique. A believer in the power of theatre to bring together communities, she is drawn to work that is vibrant, innovative, and inspires dialogue. As an advocate for arts education, Bridgett has worked as teaching artist in Cleveland and Chicago with Playhouse Square, Near West Theatre, Cleveland Public Theatre, Julia de Burgos Cultural Arts Center, Stagecrafters Youth Theatre and American Eagle Productions. Bridgett is a 2021 Support For Artists grant recipient from Julia de Burgos Cultural Arts Center. She is a company member of Do Process Theatre (doprocesstheatre.com), and member of theatre collective The Greenhouse.
