"Transforming Tides" examines resilience, resistance, and transformation through process and material. I tore and reassembled artist-made recycled paper from an earlier work, Still Standing, and integrated folded Stash tea bag packages as abstract waves. This act of deconstruction and renewal reflects personal and cultural experiences—how what is broken can be reclaimed and reshaped.
Visually, the work evokes an aerial view of an ocean shoreline, where blues and blue greens meet white sand and browns darkened by waves. This recurring motif explores the interplay between place, self, and culture, capturing the transformative forces that shape identity and environment.
