"Faces" captures the future of our isolated state (Hawaii) by symbolizing unity, resilience, and shared identity among diverse individuals. The abstract faces convey a collective strength, envisioning a future where isolation becomes a source of collaboration and a shared vision for the well-being of our unique islands.
To create my concept abstractly, I begin with a simple sketch and then transform post-consumer waste paper, including items like junk mail, into new paper by intuitively blending it with everyday household materials. I aim to play a small role in preserving our planet through this fusion. My artistic process embodies the principles of recycling, waste reduction, and sustainability promotion. By creatively repurposing materials, I contribute to the circular economy and aspire to motivate others to embrace eco-friendly practices in their own lives.
