Eishi was of the Fujiwara clan. He was one of the best pupils of Eisen Kano. Later he studied "ukiyoe-e" under Bunryusai and this picure is thaking the essence of that style and is also influenced by the Torii School. He studied the style of Hokusai as he admired that artists prints of geisha's.
