'I am a multi disciplinary artist working in painting, sculpture and contemporary needlework.

I create pop-surrealist pieces which range from acrylic paintings on both canvas & paper, sewing and embroidery of masks and ritual costumes and the creation and decoration of sculptures. My work explores topics that feel both intimate yet equally distant such as nostalgia, spirituality, the human psyche, and worlds unseen.

I create art to share my experience and perspective of the world that at times, I struggle to put into words. Recurring themes in my art are cartoons I grew up on, human psychology, the spiritual, the exploration of sexuality, and most recently, war.' - Marina Simela
