Judging from the composition, the picture most likely was painted by Harushige Sumki, though there is no chop mark of the painter in the picture.
He was born in Edo the fourth year of Enkyo; his personal name was Shun, generally known by the ame Katsusaburo, afterward to change his name to Magodayu. His style is dirived from the Kano school, but he later became a pupil of Harunobu Suzuki, and became influenced heavily by the Chinese style under Soshieseki.
