We live in West End and walk regularly along the Brisbane River at sunrise, soaking in the city and Southbank waking up each day. Tradies riding scooters across the bridge to work, joggers, dog walkers and coffee drinkers. The river is ever changing and in early 2023, the new bridge is taking shape, an icon that will reimagine the cityscape once again. It's angular shape cleverly connects the high rise of the Brisbane CBD with leafy parkland and entertainment precinct.
I use abstraction using textural layers of oil paint, applied using brushes, knifes and scrapers that invites the viewer to complete the landscape in their own minds eye.
