In Panzano, while staying at Villa le Barone, high on a hilltop above Florence, this view was just down the road. It inspired me because of the various textures - one of my favorite painting styles to do. When painting this in watercolor, I must do a lot of ‘negative painting’ as watercolor must always be painted light to dark and few corrections can be made.
