This piece was inspired by my experiences with Autism. From a young age, I always felt as though I couldn’t connect with my peers, like there was a strange barrier between us. I didn’t know how to approach people, nor maintain standard conversation etiquette such as eye contact. Being unable to maintain friendships, I felt alien. I felt inferior. I wanted to portray myself in a crowd of people, all of whom feel ghostly and disconnected from me.
