This original work by Janet Horne Cozens is a mix of monoprint done on a gel plate, with collaged Japanese paper and acrylic ink. It comes with a black 11"x14" matte and ready to put in a frame of your choice (not included).
"This print was created using a gelli plate. Moonlit nights are a very spiritual environment for me, and I tried to capture the beauty of that in this work."
Monoprinting is a form of printmaking that allows you to create unique, freeform printed images every time. Unlike the more common relief printing, which uses a block stamp to reproduce the same image over and over again, monoprinting allows the freedom to create each image anew. This will allow you to produce abstract compositions, more complex details, and traced contour images.
Janet Horne Cozens is a Canadian printmaker and mixed media artist. She is newly returned to art after a long career in the music industry. She works out of the print centre at Centre3 in Hamilton, Ontario.
