Marie was a Southern lady, living in the French Quarter of New Orleans. She misses the colourful parties of Mardi Gras during this time of isolation and social distancing. Her parasol gives her protection from the elements of sun and rain but it also intensifies the feeling of being isolated from others around here.
This piece was created during the second lockdown due to Covid 19 in 2021. While most of the Dream Portraits are whimsical and full of imagery, I left this one as it is to reflect the emptiness of being isolated.
Created with paper and paint between layers of resin.
