Inspired by the book of essays, "All Can We Save" edited by Elizabeth Johnson and Katherine Wilkinson this is my interpretation on an iconic image seen throughout art history of a woman holding a fawn. This image historically represents rescue, and in my interpretation, I imagine unity and cooperation as well. The fireweed blooms in the bare spaces. Life continues to create beauty - through our efforts we can save so much. The support for this painting is hand made in Washington by HOLD Studios.
