I was born in Atlanta, GA, in the Morningside area, the first of four children. I grew up in Doraville and attended Cross Keys High School and later Georgia State University where I was an art major. I married, had children, and worked at AT&T leaving little time to pursue art or to finish my art degree. After 31 years of service, AT&T offered an early retirement, which was an offer I could not refuse. So, my second career was launched creating art, which was what I had wanted to do since my first crayon.
I have studied oil painting and classical drawing with Connie Lynn Reilly, a very accomplished portrait artist, and wonderful teacher for over 5 years, with Millie Gosch who introduced me to the beauty of the landscape and plein air painting, and I have taken workshops from Michael del Priori (portraiture), Gene Costanza, Perry Austin and Larry Moore (plein air).
