This quilt was inspired by my impressions and memories from a trip Venice, Italy. It's a homage to Basilica San Marco, and its sculptured horses of San Marco that grace the front of the cathedral. As I worked, I chose the materials and techniques that would further that content. The finished piece is true to my goal, even though I worked intuitively, and in sections, I feel I stay true to my vision of portraying my impression of Saint Mark's Cathedral, and medieval Venice.
