Sheep, an intrinsic part of Scottish culture and both the bane & boon of many generations. The infamous Highland Clearances, destroying famiies & culture were staged to make room for sheep, among other political reasons. They can be found from one end of the country to the other, & Scottish wool products appear to have a consistently strong corner in the world market. An "old" breed of sheep with special qualities appropriate for Highland life, these two are enjoying a lazy afternoon in the hills above Oban on the west coast.
