This abstract painting is created with a sense of openness and flexibility, allowing it to be viewed from multiple orientations. Whether it is hung as originally intended or rotated 180 degrees, the composition continues to hold its balance and energy. This shifting perspective invites the viewer to engage more actively, discovering new relationships within the work depending on how it is seen.
My process for abstraction differs from more traditional approaches. The painting is laid flat, becoming a surface I move around rather than face directly. As I work, I circle the piece, applying color from all sides. This physical interaction removes the idea of a fixed “top” or “bottom,” allowing the composition to evolve more organically and without hierarchy.
Because of this method, the visual experience is constantly changing. As I move, the painting shifts with me—new alignments, tensions, and harmonies appear with each pass. This sense of motion and fluidity has been a recurring element in my work over time, where the act of creating becomes just as important as the final image.
The palette is restrained, built around monochromatic purples that create a unified and atmospheric field. Within this, a subtle horizon line emerges, offering just enough structure to ground the composition. It suggests a sense of reflection—something familiar yet undefined—anchoring the abstraction without limiting its openness.
Ultimately, the painting becomes a reflection of time and perception. It holds the imprint of movement, thought, and repetition, inviting the viewer to pause and project their own experience into it. In its quiet shifts and subtle variations, it mirrors the way thoughts move through a day—constantly evolving, never fixed, yet always present.
