A digital clock is reprogrammed to generate random patterns on its display every 45 – 60 seconds. It is a visual system for eroding the symbols of numbers, their given shapes and meanings. It also calls into question time as set increments versus experiential time, which can vary. Technology has had this dual polarized effect of increased systems of measurement yet decreased psychological awareness of ‘the now’. The internet and so- cial networks have instead spread ourselves over many time zones and spaces.
