My IUD made me bleed every day for 8 months straight, gave me horrific cramps, and made me suicidal. The medical gaslighting I experienced was reminiscent of the sexist “hysteria” diagnoses historically imposed upon women. After finally getting the IUD removed, I decided to make art with it.
