Inspired by an afternoon of forest bathing and listening.
Many recent articles have validated my theories that trees communicate with us (if you are open enough to hear it). Many trees live for hundreds of years, and are silent witnesses to great and terrible things. A tree not only provides us shelter, and even medicine, but in our lifetime we have played under it, danced around it, stood beneath its branches for shelter or shade, kissed beneath it, wed & slept under it, we have marched by them on our way to war, and limped by them on the way home, our ancestors built mighty galleons & buried kings in tombs built from its wood. Yet, even as we destroy their mighty kingdoms, they still welcome & offer a gentle respite
