CONTEMPORARY ARTIST & NUDE FIGURATIVE PAINTER
MessageEvery painting is a self-portrait, a snapshot of my inner world at that very moment. Which at the time, felt a lot like my body and soul were being vaporized and transported into a new reality.
If you’ve ever endured the death of a parent or loved one, then I’m sure you understand that exact moment your life changes forever. The loss, the pain & the grief whisk you away to another dimension outside of yourself. There’s suddenly flowers everywhere and no one knows which way is up. Floating through time and space where nothing really makes sense and everything is blurry and out of focus...
The idiom "wherever you go, you cannot escape yourself" conveys the idea that our inner selves, including our thoughts, emotions, habits, and personal challenges, linger behind us wherever we go. No matter where I go, my true self, with all its complexities and baggage, accompanies me on every journey.
The also phrase encourages self-awareness, self-acceptance, and the reminder that lasting change and growth must come from within, rather than relying solely on external factors or escapism. It prompts us to confront and work through our personal challenges, rather than attempting to flee from them, as they are an inextricable part of who we are. The colors we choose, the textures we sculpt, the subjects we depict - all are reflections of the depths we've explored within ourselves.
So let us embrace fearlessly baring our vulnerabilities, celebrating our complexities, and allowing our truths to manifest in every masterpiece we craft. For in doing so, we not only create art but unveil the most profound journey of all - the one that leads us to ourselves.
