"Irit creates sculptures that reflect the social and political dilemmas of our world. She works in the abstract and the real and is inspired by the qualities of clay, its versatility, its textures, and its amazing transformation. Complementing the clay, Irit juxtaposes various metals, wood and discarded objects. Through this narrative, she conveys her concerns and raises awareness about the human condition. Recently, Irit expanded her scope to include historical icons in her clay work, modern images, and decorative metaphors, uniting them to form a sculpture with many voices."
