Collection of wine from HESTER CREEK, a unique destination winery in the heart of BC'S WINE Country , Okanagan, Canada.
Charmed by the scenic location and convinced of its potential, Prince George entrepreneur Curt Garland bought Hester Creek in 2004 — the dry grasslands, natural vegetation, orchards and vineyards of the Golden Mile Bench reminded him of the Mediterranean. New to the industry, he assembled an accomplished team, which included veteran Niagara winemaker Rob Summers.
In 1968, BC wine pioneer Joe Busnardo came upon an excellent property sheltered below the rugged desert bluffs of what is now known as the Golden Mile Bench. Spread over 76 acres of a gently sloping hillside, he recognized the potential for growing superior vinifera grapes on this unique land. Today, a total of 115 acres comprise winery estate, which is planted with Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Italian Merlot, Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Sémillon, Syrah, and Trebbiano on 22 vineyard blocks. Each block is farmed sustainably, harvested, and vinified individually to preserve and enhance the nuances of the land.
