Ashley Tiedeman (Filipina, Alutiiq) is an Indigiqueer artist mama of 4. She creates mixed media art (drawing, painting, ceramics and poetry) inspired by her culture, ancestors, regular degular life experiences, and healing journey. Throughout her life Ashley has always been drawn to expressing herself creatively. As she’s gotten older she’s come to realize how important art has been to her healing journey. Creating art has helped her express trauma and a range of experiences in healthy ways. Art has helped her connect to her cultures and become confident in her identity. Creating has connected her to spirit and kept her grounded and present in her body. She’s shared the knowledge she has gained from her life experiences, knowledge and passion of visual arts, healing, and creativity, with youth and community by leading mural projects, art + activism groups, teaching youth art classes, and facilitating community healing through art.
