Spirit is a Huŋkpapa Lakota and Sāmoan scholar, skateboarder, and community organizer. A first-generation college graduate from the University of Washington-Seattle, they earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Health-Global Health with a minor in American Indian Studies.

Passionate about sharing resources and opportunities, Spirit works to introduce youth to the joy of skateboarding. They have had the privilege of collaborating with diverse youth across Washington State through arts, culture, and skateboarding-based programs in partnership with schools, universities, Indigenous communities, non-profits, and other organizations.

Spirit believes that art, creativity, and fun are powerful forms of medicine, especially when shared within community. Through skateboarding and the creative arts, these shared experiences can foster healing, relationality, and empowerment. Spirit sees skateboarding as a lifeway that can guide communities to embody and practice resilience, trust, and confidence. These shared moments are essential tools for connecting with our bodies, the land, and our communities.

Spirit is committed to uplifting BIPOC and QT youth, fostering an environment where they can learn and achieve their goals in a safe, inclusive space grounded in trauma-informed practices, lived experience, and a deep respect for culture, fun, and community.
