ehe 'oykalo, iinim wes wen'iikt Frank Andrews, and I am from the Colville Confederated Tribes (Nez Perce band) on my fathers side and Diné (Navajo) on my mothers side. I have been creating art primarily painting and 2-D as disciplines, since I was young and I have been active in connecting my culture within it. I received my degree from the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe in 2017, NM which my aunt has also attended, and made me realize I could have a career in creating art. I have worked at the Colville Tribal Museum in 2018-2019 learning and teaching others about where my family comes from and it has been a pleasure to get close to the cultural artifacts and listening to the elders and their stories to help me understand how much my tribe has suffered to get to where we are today. Sharing stories and knowing your roots as an indigenous person is important as you pass that information down to future generations.
