This scene depicts the Lake Michigan shoreline near my home. The title, Shore Roots has several meanings. The shore roots come from the trees and underbrush. They run through the sand into the water. Shore Roots also signifies my family's connection to Lake Michigan and this stretch of beach in particular where we regularly walk and swim. The roots have also been a resource for my daughter's sculpture.
