Artist: Peter Mitchell
Peter Mitchell has been photographing landscapes in the Lake George area for 25+ years, specializing in unusual lighting conditions at sunrises/dawn, sunsets/dusk and distinct weather conditions. Peter refers to his artwork as “paintings,” since many viewers mistakenly believe them to be paintings. He typically frames these paintings in re-purposed antique window frames, which gives viewers the feeling they are looking at a real scene through their bedroom or living room window.
My intention is to add a creative meaning to the image, to inspire a visual passion for inspirational expressions in life that we see woven in nature, places and people. I capture the light to express the natural beauty that surrounds us.
When acquiring new art, Hudson Headwaters seeks pieces that contribute to the ongoing creative culture of our community. Local and regional artists are always given first consideration.
