Artist: David Waite
I am a nature and fine arts photographer and the images I create express my personal creativity and unique view of nature. My subjects are the scenes I encounter as I travel by foot or boat through the wilderness areas in the northeast.
I have been influenced not only by contemporary artists and photographers, but also the pictorial artists of the past. I find their simplicity of subject matter coupled with strong composition offers a refreshing change from so many of the contemporary images often created more to express a political or social statement than artistic creativity.
I was trained and worked as a professional photographer in the 1970’s, left that career a few years later and returned to photography as a creative outlet in 2003.
When acquiring new art, Hudson Headwaters seeks pieces that contribute to the ongoing creative culture of our community. Local and regional artists are always given first consideration.
