Artist: Channing Lefebvre
Channing Lefebvre has been studying the world of art since he was in high school. Thanks to a challenging art teacher in his sophomore year, Channing decided to pursue a career in art. After graduation, he attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, where he explored painting and printmaking then received his BFA from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.
It was at Art Center that Channing received a concentrated, in-depth schooling in the arts. It was an education steeped in the tradition of the old masters and contemporary thinking. Many influences from Tiepolo to Rothko and Motherwell formed his aesthetic. Moving to the Albany area after graduation, Channing received a National Endowment Fellowship grant in printmaking in 1974. He has shown in many galleries regionally. His work is in private and corporate collections throughout the area.
When acquiring new art, Hudson Headwaters seeks pieces that contribute to the ongoing creative culture of our community. Local and regional artists are always given first consideration.
