Although I am a representational painter, the images I am most excited about are those with a strong abstract quality as well as intriguing color relationships. I take photos wherever I go, and paint from only those photos. The results are works that represent my vision of the place at the time of its discovery. My images are varied. I paint primarily landscapes depicting areas in Upstate New York, as well as the American Southwest, New England area, including Cape Cod and Maine. I’m also fond of painting old houses, cats, cabbages, still life, my garden and winter moods.
I am a graduate of Tufts University, have a Master of Fine Arts degree from SUNY/Albany, and have won many local awards. I worked as a graphic designer for twenty years. My work is in many local and nationwide private collections, and also can be found on the Etsy website.
When acquiring new art, Hudson Headwaters seeks pieces that contribute to the ongoing creative culture of our community. Local and regional artists are always given first consideration.
