I began creating the Small Section Paintings in 2001 as a response to the large-scale works I was exhibiting at that time. These works are to be shown on a raised surface such as a desk, shelve, or in a display table. These small works have also served as prototypes for large-scale installations. If they are to become an installation, adjustments are made to the piece in order to work with the architecture.
