What could be more ancient that the universal impulse to gaze at the moon? This simple composition was executed from the memory of a cold winter night when the moon over the dark forest near my home seemed full of magic. Working quickly, I used iridescent pastels to accentuate the mystery of the trees and their shadows frozen in the moonlight.
