During my early exploration of dance and music, and later, while raising my children, I painted to illustrate the world I knew and the mysterious.
Message
I painted this from a tiny photo in a magazine article about refugee in camps. This child was in the photo of a group of refugees in Darfur and he caught my attention. I painted black eyed Susans in his eyes as a symbol of the developmental arrest in children who are victims of violence.
