Peace is Not Fragile portrays Bhikkhu Pannakara during the historic 2,300-mile walk for peace across the United States. In this graphite portrait, I sought to capture not only the likeness of the monk but the strength and resolve that sustains such a journey. The drawing reflects the idea that peace is not passive or delicate, but an active practice requiring endurance and inner discipline.
