This work is inspired by a monk I met in Hemis Monastery in Ladakh. I have depicted him here absorbed in thought, a small stone resting in his hand. His posture is unassuming, yet deeply present, as if the weight of that single object holds something far greater. In that moment, the gesture feels expansive, as though he is not just holding the stone, but contemplating something as vast as the universe itself.
