A blend of the slicing technique and silkscreen, this is hand-woven into a two-dimensional artwork, created from original linoleum block prints and solid-toned screen prints. My artwork is influenced by the high desert landscape of northern New Mexico, where I work, and my travels across the country, where I create artwork, prints, and drawings in natural settings.
Hilary Lorenz is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice integrates printmaking, cut paper, and weaving to explore endurance, landscape, and the human relationship with nature. Based in rural New Mexico, Lorenz transforms physical exploration into large-scale visual installations that evoke both the fragility and resilience of the natural world.

Lorenz is a Fulbright Scholar and NEA Mid-Atlantic Fellow, with residencies at the Kent Cultural Alliance, LMCC Governors Island, Yukon Arts Centre Chilkoot Trail Residency, and ARTS Tasmania, among others.
Her work is included in significant collections, notably the Library of Congress, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, the Bronx Museum of the Arts, and the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp. Lorenz holds an MA and MFA in Printmaking and Intermedia from the University of Iowa.
