The Knitted brooch and Drape pins are naturalistic representations of fabric materials in the form of contemporary jewellery. While advanced 3D printing often aims to replicate the properties of fabric by creating interlinked, flexible components, these pieces take a different approach. They are intentionally designed to be stiff and sculptural, capturing the illusion of movement without allowing for actual flexibility. This showcases the versatility of CAD and 3D printing technologies in producing organic, textile-like forms. Furthermore, the works introduce an element of irony: fabric is reimagined in rigid materials and then worn over real fabric clothing. As brooches and pins, their traditional role as adornments for garments adds another layer to this visual and conceptual interplay.
