This watercolor painted on a mounted wood panel was painted in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the extinction of the Passenger Pigeon. There was a time when this bird was so plentiful that they darkened the sky and blocked out the sun. Though there was a time when that seemed unimaginable, over hunting led to their loss. I was proud to have this piece as a part of a traveling exhibition entitled Moving Target.
