How the West Was Won

America the Free, America the Beautiful. But how did we get here? Many forget that millions of sacred Bison were slaughtered during the Euro-American expansion westward in a mad dash of "Manifest Destiny". With this purposeful slaughter, countless Native Americans starved to death, and those who remained lost their traditional ways of life. This Bison skull stands alone but powerful in the face of the American Flag draped gently over its front. The White Man may have won that battle over the West, but like the comeback of the Bison, Native America is growing strong again.
