The huqqa base has a characteristic bulbous form that tapers into a slender neck, flaring slightly at the top to accommodate the huqqa pipe. The surface is covered with prominent paisley or almond-shaped cartouches filled with floral arabesques precisely chiselled and inlaid, showcasing traditional Mughal artistry. The neck and shoulder feature horizontal bands with geometric and floral detailing. This base would have held water for filtering smoke in a traditional huqqa setup.
