Born to Dutch dairy farmers in LA, lived life cross-culturally, especially in Africa , now pursuing my first love, making art.
MessageTulips. I'm Dutch so these are my mother-flower, if there is such a thing. They are beautiful in their simplicity and vibrant color. Fields of them are magnificent, but I prefer them one-by-one, or in twos or at in bouquets. And if we're talking Dutchness, orange is the country color. (I only have Dutch blood, blended into SoCal upbringing and international life once I left home. But blood runs thick I guess.)
I started this painting years ago, and just completed it. It's done with palette knife and brush. The sides of the wrapped canvas are painted so no need for a frame.
